This week's Japan hardware and software sales

The 3DS maintains its top spot on the sales chart this week - it looks to us that in its homeland at least, Nintendo's new handheld is finally catching on.

Both the PS3 and PSP maintain strong positions too. As for the Wii sales? 10,000 Dragon Quest or Zelda fans. It has to be, because that console is getting very little else for the rest of its life.

3DS 58,504
PS3 30,362
PSP 25,401
Wii 10,301
DSi LL 2,382
DSi 1,679
XB360 2,411
PS2 1,351
DSL 52
PSP go 14

In terms of software, I get to to the point and laugh at the western critics thing again - another Warriors game, another top seller. Dark Souls maintains good sales figures, and that Dragon Quest collection better come overseas.
